Totally agree! I thought it was badazz in the concepts but the actual spy photos the car is horrendious!

Well, at least you're having some fun with some kind of car.
I'm gearing up to start investing in the Saturn ION a little bit and make it the respectable little sister of big brother contour.
You don't happen to know how to tune the late model GM ECM's do you?

No, I haven't. Did they mess with it??? Damn them! I have to go check this out... EDIT: Guess I'll stick with the T.A. until a special edition comes out. They had it right with the concept car, but a swing and miss with the production version if the spy shots are right...

That ION is a neat little car. If only it had more power... heheheheheheheh. 
The PROM tuning only works up to '95 GM's IIRC. After that, they went to flash, non-remove type chips. Programable still, but not with what I have...

Well? I'm trying to find a way to cheaply reprogram my 2003 Ion PCM so I can see what happens. Any ideas?

They use a new crank to destroke it to 2L and some other crap; too expensive for a new crank if you ask me!
The new issue of Sport Compact shows a Chevy Cavalier with the 2.2L ecotech and a turbo. It is a shot article but basically they used a turbo to produce 187wHP. They nitrided the stock crank, used a centerforce clutch, 36# injectors and a pontiac grand prix fuel pump. Of course they reprogrammed the stock ecu. Oh yeah, BTW they used a thicker head gasket to drop the compression to 8.7:1 IIRC.
Everything else was stock.
I need to know how to modify the stock ecu programming so I can begin modifying the engine.
Anyone know how to do it?
