well - the stock intake is VERY restrictive on these cars, some guys have done mods to the existing airboxes and have achieved 9HP at the wheels (dyno tested)...

see my post in the "general" forum, there are dyno sheets showing the power increases

heck - MSDS headers have DYNO sheets showing 20HP gains and 24ft/lbs of torque...

the 3.0L VVT engine is a GREAT engine! just restricted on the '6' because it's Mazda's new flagship and they don't want to offend the regular everyday 4-door driver

Up until 2003, the engine was a 2.0. In 2003 they went to a 2.2 with 240 hp and more torque than the 2.0
