You'll get beat drivers being equal. The Mazda should give an SVT a good run.

The fastest that I've heard reported is 14.9 @ 94, so they will own you on the highway (by trap speed), but at the strip, it's all about the driver. With a regular Contour, I'm not to sure about your chances. A modded regular Contour can get you close (see sig). An SVT that has a good clutch should get you about the same genaral low 15's range. Do your best, but remember he has the better car.

The fastest stock time I've seen is about 15.2-15.3.
That 14.9 was slightly modded. So I'd say its 100% a drivers race.

You would probably beat me in my 6 though. I just can't seem to get good launches. No wheel hop, just spinning all the way through 1st gear. I think that these stock tires suck.

I'm sure their (6's) times will only get better, stock, becasue a lot aren't fully broken in. And not many guys will out right 'do what's necesssary' to get the best times. They prob baby it. Not good

We talking about the mazda 6s or the mazda 6 4 cylinder(aren't they turboed?)?

I am thinking about getting a Mazda 6s since i rolled my svt last night trying to miss a deer doing about 50-55mph.

I know from experience that the Mazda 6s will beat the Contour svt even modded i raced one down the interstate and it killed me big time i never seen it again as for 1/4 mile i have seen them take off and there really quick. I am gonna go test drive one here soon to see if i like it.Will let you know wut i think.I'm gonna test drive a mazda 6s and the regular mazda6 and see the difference.

if you're dealing w/the top end model 6 i think a stock svt tour will drag behing a little at the strip. like previously stated its all about the driver, track, temp, etc. last time i ran my tour at the track, about 2 years ago, i ran a 15.6 w/a full stereo in the trunk and a bad reaction time. since then ive gotten a little better at driving but i think it'd be a very good friendly bet to run at the track. you should do a grudge run.
