Nokian Hakka 1s are the best SNOW only tire you will buy. I ran them on my Miata for 2 years and they rocked in snow and wore pretty well too. Packed snow and ice, not much better than all seasons. Dry roads, not bad, pretty equal to all seasons.

What conditions will you be driving in?
If lots of unplowed snowy roads, the Hakka 1s are the way to go.
If usually plowed (dry roads) or packed snow roads, the Artic Alpins are the best IMHO. I've owned Blizzaks and the Artic Alpins give equal if not better snow/ice grip and much better dry road handling than the very mushy Blizzaks. I've got a set on Focus wheels for the winter waiting to be put on. Rocketed past many an SUV in a ditch last winter on those
