Hello, all. I was reading the forum and I came across a locked topic (about keying and insurance). I thought the question within was going to be an honest one, as I truly would like to know if insurance is willing to pay for things like this. I am a dorm director, and I have to park in the dorm parking lot. While I do not advertise that it is my car, it's a small campus and the students know my car. My hood looks like someone dragged something across it (or, my guess is that they used my hood as a slide). I also have dings, dents, and scratches across the door panels. Some, I'm sure are from regular wear and tear associated with parking in a public lot, others, I'm not so sure. I never thought to do anything about them, but I keep getting new ones every now and again, so my question is: is it worth filing a claim? Will insurance pay for these things and will my rates go up? It's a fairly new car (yes, I know we're up to 2004 models now), but I still like taking pride in vehicles and I'd like for it to look good. Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks in advance!

It is seen as vandalism and will be paid for but the deductable will also have to be paid for. More than 2 vandalism claims and your rates will sky rocket since you'll be seen as high risk.

Todd is right...If all damage happened separately a claim would have to be filed for each incident, causing your rates to go up. On my policy, they wave the first claim(as far as increasing my rate), but I also lose the future discount for not having any claims on my policy(they get you one way or another). The insurance company will pay for all damages, but you will pay through your increased rates.
