Question..

Those spray on wheel cleaners... most of them are "touchless". How do we/I know if they'll harm the finish on our/my wheels?
I have the EO SVTs... do I need to worry about spraying them w/ these products?

Thanks,

Tim.

I would avoid them even if they say "...safe...".

I would recommend buying a wash mitt for your wheels.

Use your regular car wash soap and a bucket of warm water and wash them as you would wash your car.
(wash the rears 1st, then the fronts)

Or you can try something like this
I've seen it work personally and the stuff is amazing.

Cleaning is a lot easier if you wax your wheels every so often.

Would you spray those wheel cleaners on you paint??
** Treat your wheels the way you would treat your paint **

Eagle One A to Z is a very good cleaner. Make sure you read the directions. I also second the wheel wax that stuff is just amazing.

Now I hate America? That is a new one to me.

NOTHING is touchless. I like A2Z as well. You shouldn't let the brake dust cake up enough to warrant using a "touchless". The dust will eat/discolor the wheels.

From the Aesthetics how-to Detailers Guide...
"Wheels need a strong cleaner that can break the bond between brake dust, road tar, road grime and the wheel. Wheel cleaners come in two basic formulas: acid cleaners and acid-free cleaners. Acid cleaners are very strong and work without much agitation. Care must be taken not to use acid cleaners on wheels with pitted or chipped surfaces. The acid will migrate into any fissures and accentuate flaking and peeling of surface coatings. Non-acidic cleaners are mild solutions of alkaline solvent. These solutions creep under brake dust to loosen and lift. Non-acidic cleaners require some surface agitation (brush or sponge) but are safer to use than acidic cleaners and will not etch the wheel's finish."
