Besides, is engine wear really what kills cars these days? So what if running Mobil 1 and changing it every 3000 miles extends engine life to 250,000 miles or whatever. The car still rusts out or you get rear-ended by a drunk or the suspension/steering/clutch/whatsit goes and would cost more to repair than the car's worth. For a daily driver, I wonder if it really makes any sense to obsess about engine wear, when chances are you're going to be replacing the car by 150,000 miles anyway.
