Here's my experience. Within a week of getting my 1st SVT, someone drug something all over the car and it of course got scratched up. I filed a police report on base and contacted my insurance company, Allstate. I took it to their adjuster and got an estimate. Total damage estimate $585 minus my deductable of $500, they wrote me a check for $85. So yes, an insurance company will pay, most likely depending upon the policy and because the pay out was so small, my rates did not go up.
