It's possible, but having a chip means having to put in Premium gas. To notice any effect anyways. They're tuned to take advantage of Premium.

So, if you don't do that already, even if your gas mileage goes up, you'll still be paying ~20 cents a gallon more, so it'll cost you in the long run.




I live in Florida, I have a chip & I run regular gas most times with premium about every fourth tank full. I get no pings, no problems, no improved fuel mileage either. Then again, I don't push my car very hard for the most part, so perhaps I'm just not reaching the point where I would notice any problems.
