Thousands of years ago, when I was a lean mean Storm Trooper for Uncle Sam's Army, I could do 2 miles in under 13:15, after doing say 70-80 pushups and 65-75 situps. (Situps were always my downfall.)
Not bad for a man who was from 205-215# and only 5'11" tall.
I was always "counselled" because my weight wasn't ideal according to the charts, but with a 48" chest and a 34" waist, I wasn't fat by any means, save for some love handles.
But running would bore me to tears.
Today I'm about 240# (down nearly 20# in the past 35 or so days due to life events followed by many lifestyle changes.)
My goal is to get to 225# say by Thanksgiving and maybe 220 or a bit below by years end.
