I would like to get a rack for my CSVT before ski season arrives. I was wondering what everyone prefers. I can get a Yakima setup with a 4 board holder for ~$200 new. I would just go with that but I wanted to hear your experiences with other racks.
And if by chance you do have a rack you could post a couple pics. Thanks.

Thule doesn't make a fit kit for our cars so your only option is Yakima
it really bits, I have a whole Thule set up that I had on my Tempo but I can't use it anymore...

Now I must deside if I want to fork over the money. If a rack wont look good on my car, I might as well continue to mooch on my best friends 1.8t and let him get me to the mountain. I am just not ready to sacafice looks right now if I can avoid it. But if it looks good, hell I'm all for it.

More pics of this one would be appreciated. I would like to get a better feel on the fit of the rack on the car. Where everything lines up, etc. I definitely like where the air-ramp gaurd thingy is placed on this one.
and:
And silver SVTs out there sporting a rack?

I've always put my bike in the trunk. I don't really do winter sports, but I'd assume the snowboards fit in w/ the seats lowered, right?

Silly Grymes...trunk space is for bicycles! The mail reason I don't have a bike rack is the noise. They're so dang loud! They also cost a lot, and the mpg goes down considerably w/ a rack on the roof. I really only ride road, however, so my bike doesn't come back caked w/ dirt and mud. SO...racks can really be a blessing.

i can fit 2 boards in my back seat with ease... just put the nose end up near the window and the bottom end down... or you could just lay down your passenger seat and lay it on it... save ya 200 bucks

First thing. I dont think a bike will fit now in the trunk now, it will be too much off a pain in the *ss getting it around my box each time. Also, that's only one bike, its no fun riding alone. The main reason for the rack now is for the winter season and having a car load of riders along with their boards on the top and gear in the back. The way I see it, this is the only way. Anyhow I am still trying to decide this might just be on of the impulse purchases because of a new found wealth in my checking account.
Still looking for pics... Luke wanna chop on a rack to a Silver CSVT?

I am thinking I could fit about 3 boards and/or sets of skis in on the left side of the trunk with the left seat down(so also 3 riders). I could just cover the amps up with a towel or blanket. OR... Luke, we could build a Lexan encloser that mounts onto the seat! It will have to be "designed" so it looks sweet, and functional for protection and for air to get to the amps.
I have access to mills and other very cool equipment so I am sure we could produce something pretty slick.
