That is an engine roll dampener. Lost mine last year and tried to get to it. I ended up at the shop down the street so the car could be hoisted overhead. Worth the 200 bucks (price included parts) for the work because one of the bolts needed drilled out. When it's in the air a transmission jack can safely hold the engine up. I think they took the center bolt out and separated the mount to get it in out. The Ford shop manual is useless when it came to this repair. I was wanting to fill the dampener with that 3M puddy to make it stronger.
