I got hit last month....
$650 Stereo
$300 CD Changer
$600 Amp
$120 Optima Battery
$75 Auto Meter Shift Lite
$50 Auto Meter Oil Pressure Guage
$1500 In Damage (Door Lock\Trunk Lock & dents along side of car)

Took some personal stuff inside including money and expensive watch. About $400 worth of stuff.

As far as Insurance goes (Let this be a lesson to you)
Home owners insurance covers what inside the car (cd, clothes, etc.)
I have a $500 Deductable, so it was not worth it. A LOSS
Auto Insurance covers damage to the car and stuff attached (Stereo, cd changer, etc.)
Now here's the kick in the ass.... Amp is not covered unless you have a added coverage for it.
So yes my $600 Soundstream amp... GONE.
Most of everything was covered, they had to think twice about the oil gauge, but did cover it. And I was asked if my battery in the trunk was factory, but they covered it as well.

Damn bastards !!!!!!! I feel your pain as I had my wheels stolen last month and the feeling of violation is terrible. I hope you can get your insurance to cover some of it. Good luck

Btw we both made the mistake of not having alarms and that was the first thing I had done after I got my car back, and I recommend you do the same.

Reason #1456-8430.26 not to fill your car with expensive easily-removable stuff.

I once had the window of my brand new (at the time) truck broken out in a metro parking lot so the thief could take ---- about $1.50 in change. The Repair cost me about $300.

1 question.
Factory PATS is obviously there. Did you have anything to supplement it?

FYI to all, State Farm will cover anything attached (bolted and connected to the electrical system) to/in your car with out a seperate policy for it. I had my system stolen a few years back, got paid over 5g's for it, just make sure you have your receipts or then you'll really have a problem.
