IIRC renter's insurance only covers thing stolen from your car that aren't a normal/permanent part of it. So if you had the Mona LIsa painting chillin in the back of yoru car and someone ripped it you would get paid for that but stereo equipment doesn't count. Now different insurance companies may have different policies on that but I'm pretty sure you should be covered under your AUTO insurance if you have full coverage.
That really sucks that it happened man but I'm kinda wondering did you have a car alarm on that thing? Not trying to throw salt in your wound but I would definitely invest in one if you have that kinda money wrapped up in stereo.
