I think a better word would be TACKY or TASTELESS instead of RICEY. I think underbody neons(actually neon lighting in general) can look good if done right. Exposed neon tubes of any sort are tacky and tasteless IMO.

here. I would love to see these in person. I bet they are super thin(making mounting them easier), low power consuming, and probably last forever. They can also scan back and forth(can you say Kit from night rider...LOL). The question is...are they as bright or brighter than a standard neon tube?
