Found a Contour SVT...it is in California. I had someone look at it for me. The person said it felt fine on the road but the following scares me:

Front seats in poor condition

Bad curb damage

Engine doesn't look well taken care of

opinions please?

I'd pass. SVTs are rare, but not that rare.

Well if i were you i would maybe buy it cause i would replace everything you listed except the engine. I would get racing seats , Hellas GFX kit , and then i would get Chris' turbo(after i had the engine rebuilt of course) but thats only cause im a play with my car as much as you can type of guy. its up to you, if you wanna project car thats a good one. but if you want style now , then pass it over bro.

How many miles on the odo?

Front scrape is typical. Looks just like mine, sorry to say.

Looks like a heavy driver who didn't use any leather treatment on the seats. I've seen Porsches look as bad... back when real people could afford one (real people don't treat their leather or wash their engines ). wink

Front seats in poor condition
Tough to tell from the pic... a bit worse than mine, but the thigh bolsters do crack a bit over time regardless of how well you take care of them. This one might be worse than average, though.

Bad curb damage
Again, worse than average, although most SVTs do have a few scrapes there.

Engine doesn't look well taken care of
Agree.

Yuck.. Curb thing is normal, 90% of the SVTs I see at the meets have this. Even I managed to scratch mine a little bit (nothing like that), but I just touched it up.

Move on, find a better one, this one looks like no one ever loved it.

this car just needs a major detail done by a professional. my shop would have this car looking like new. with leather redye, carpet redye, engine detail, and paint repair, aprox cost of 600 dollars. every svt has curb damage. mine to and mine is almost perfect. the big question is what year, how many miles, what options and how much money. give me the details and i can give you the nada values and what you should be able to pay for this car. wink
