I'm currently attending UM Ann Arbor. I was actually asking this question mostly for the future. I wouldn't actually be putting a sub in my dorm this year, this is for next year in a dorm or apartment...I was just bored and I wanted time to research it...right now I'm thinking along the lines of a better computer stereo system or buying a mini system and hooking that up to the computer, I've seen many people do that...in fact, these days you can spend $150 and get a mini system over 300 watts...except for a few though you can't add a sub to mini systems because most lack a sub preout...I could always just buy a cheap receiver like someone said and power a few bookshelf speakers and a sub but that gets expensive...Thanks for offering to help though CarpePoon, I'll let you know if I need any help with the 12V thing but it prob. wont be too soon...sorry for the lack of punctuation
