I've already done that. To see pics then go to my page (in my sig). I yanked out the symbol with a small screw driver. Now I'm waiting on paint.

Already put black tape on the chrome, but I really dont want to be putting in SVT or FORD on my mystique. That would make it rice. So im thinking about dremeling out the inside parts of the badge and put in clear plastic/plexiglass. Then putting in a blue led or something behind it. So I would have the mercury emblem with the cut out in between glowing blue. I would also paint the emblem part black. I think thats this sunday's project, no it IS this sunday's project.

Edit: Oh yeah, and to cover up my sh*tty craftsmanship, put some tint over the clear plastic maybe?

Hey, i had the glowing merc symbol idea too. I think the best route would not be to dremel out the existing recesses in the stock symbol, but rather to cut a piece of plexi-glass to that exact round size; then put some vinyl/stickers on it to mimic the merc symbol when lit. I was gonna do this a long time ago, i had it all taken apart to examine, but you do have to cut a lot of stuff, and make sure it seals properly and fits. Gotta wonder it its really worth it for that 1" glowing circle. Who knows though, i might still try it.

Take a look at my project, I have a Mystique rear reflector, and I'm trying to to fit in a Ford logo, as my Contour reflector.

http://www.fototime.com/inv/AD076A11517C6B6

I used a dremel to get the Merc logo out, although it was a destructive method. I then use the dremel again, with a template to cut out the space for the Ford logo. I am using the logo from the front grill. The logo fits properly, but the rest of the circle of the Merc logo is still there and I haven't figure out what I can use to fill it properly. I was thinking clear epoxy with red food coloring, or something!

Great pics! Gives me a much better idea what I'm up against and thanks for the link to the CF emblem.

I'll toss up some pics once I get the reflector color matched. It will be a month or so though.
