Does anyone know how the Mercury emblem is attached on the trunk reflector?
I picked up a Mystique reflector and want to remove the emblem so I can fill it with some bondo and paint the reflector.
Any help is appreciated. I don't want to break anything.

It's glued in, just use a thin screwdriver to pop it out.

where did u get it? i have been thinking about getting one for a while now. expensive? do the the reflectors inside really not match the reflectors on the tailights? i've heard that from someone.

yea the mystique has a different reflector patteren as well as a chrome strip running under the lights and reflector.

Ive been thinking about taking that emblem out, but what could be an option for putting in it's place? Does it look better with nothing in there, or is there something that I can put in there that would look pretty good. I do not want to paint the entire reflector.

Yep, different reflector pattern so it probably won't look good with regular Tour taillights. The advantage is no chrome strip at the top, nicer plate recess, small emblem and smoked looking reverse lights. I plan on shaving the emblem all together to smooth out the rear. There is a user name Striped SVT that changed the taillights and reflector, put black tape over the chrome at the bottom and put an SVT emblem in place of the Merc emblem.
I planned on painting it from the beginning so the reflector pattern wasn't an issue for me. I picked it up from a fellow CEG'r via the classifieds. I was very, very stoked to find it!

They make carbon fiber ones that say ford in chrome in the middle. I was thinking about doing the same thing with a carbon fiber SVT emblem

u bastid. thats my idea. i've been looking for a merc owner who wants to swap actually. i'm gonna have muskat (whatever the site's name is) make cf svt emblem w/ a solid black circle in the background. the "v" will be over most of the circle so the "svt" isnt encased in the circle. dremel down the merc emblem just a tad so the new one will sit more flush. then jsut a cf one for the front grill (no black circle though). these muskat already makes.
