Is this a 4 or 6 cylinder? I guess your talking about an automatic right? First thing to check is the transmission fluid with the car warm, idling, in park on a level surface. It should be up to the line and the fluid should be sort of clear red in color. If the fluid is brown or smells burnt, it's probably already too late, but a flush and fill with fresh Mercon fluid may help. Changing the fluid out every year (or every other year at a minimum) is recommended for our cars.
