Why thanks for an answer Peach taken from the 2 guard "How Low can I go?????? " post
"I will vouche for the Intrax springs. I have a set of them on my SVT. Very very nice drop. A little more in the front than in the back, but that gives it kind of a mean look to it. I would not suggest using stock struts with Intrax. Over bumps, they ride very nicely, quick, firm response and no bouncing. However, if you go over a dip in the road that goes from low to high very quickly, the car raises up and drops quickly, then up again, causing some bounce and at some times, bottoming out. I am now looking into some very tight struts to control this bottoming out and bouncing over road surfaces. Handling is great, but could be better with strut tower, Aussie bar, and better struts. For the money it is the best drop out there. However, the large drop on stock struts will wear them out quickly as mentioned before. If you do ride on stock's for a while, try not to make it too long or you may blow the struts and possibly damage the spring or some other part of your suspension. Intrax does say on their site: "
So there must be come kind of rate over operating range matching between struts and springs you know minimum input, impact, stress, rebound to full input, impact , rebound, stress of how each component will react to and with the other component. A rally spring strut combination will survive a hop or water jump with no problems but would probably be a kidney popper and not a comfortable cruiser!!
I think most spring strut buyers do not have this thinking; to reduce the wheel well gap is the thinking I think.
