are you talking to me ???
nobody had mentioned MONEY until now.
I didn't say i wanted the CHEAPEST solution... All i wanted (want) was drop the car (visual aspect) and keep it nice to drive. I am sayig that because I like the way it handles. Maybe it could be much better.. but I am afraid it would be too rough. Again, I don't go to tracks or any kinda of races. But I do drive the car EVERYDAY.
maybe a little stiffer is good... by reading the coments.. but I dont want a hi-performance suspension because I don't even have the engine for that.....

My ride right now is pretty firm, but my struts are also almost shot, so it is hard to tell if the ride is accurate. I personally like a hard, firm ride. I wouldn't say stay away from Intrax because they are BAD, they just probably won't meet your expectations for a "soft" ride.
hey Peach, thanks for the input.
And you are right... nobody said your springs are BAD... only TOO PROFESSIONAL, I guess.

I don't get it. Are progressive springs BAD ??
I don't want SOFT SOFT... i want similar to stock to a little stiffer. Nothing softer than stock.
And those would be Eibach or BATs, correctly ???
and they are progressive, right ???

So many questions.
No drop with SVT springs.
Early and late struts differ in the lower spring perch. Any strut can be used on the early cars as long as the springs fit the struts. That is, match late springs to late struts if you want them on your early 'tour.
Progressive=good for most people esp on the street. It just means that the spring rate in the first inch is softer than in the last inch. For example, the first inch might be about 10% stiffer than stock, but they might run up as high as 30% over as they compress more. That means that under cruise they feel firm but nice over the usual road imperfections, but in harder cornering, when they deflect a bit more, they firm up for better control.
Yes, Eibach and BAT springs are progressive rate.

Nope
The reason those cars bounce and skate all over the place is BECAUSE they have suspensions that are far too stiff. So much so that the car is tossed into the air and sideways over rough pavement.(Yes i've seen it happen) This equates to a serious loss of control. Fine for a track maybe, but on the street your suspension needs to keep the car stable and the tires planted under all conditions.

Harder does not equate to better, it's true. The Hondas (and any other car) are either dropped too low, and riding on the bumpstops, or underdamped, or both.
It's telling that Grassroots Motorsports took a new Civic as a project car. It had been set up for the SEMA show, so dropped very low so it would look cool. GRM guys drove it, and the first thing they did was raise the suspension and use softer springs to improve their course times.
The trap that people fall into is thinking that more is always better and sexier.
