Nobody created God. God has been around forever and ever. Like i said before, thats something our minds cant comprehend.

Best way I ever had eternity explained to me was this: Imagine that every grain of sand on the earth represented 1 year. Eternity is still longer. God is, was, and always will be, the begining and the end. It's a faith thing, you pretty much either have it or don't. If you wanna say why have faith in somehting you can't see, I ask why do you believe there is oxygen in the air and that when you inhale, your heart will continue to beat?
As for this whole hell thing. I believe hell exists, but on a level we are not aware of, not in some subterranian pocket of the earth. As for what is hell, I have no idea, there are too many theories, I do know however i don't really want to find out!

I can see oxygen with use of a microscope and my heart beats because of my brain. God is intangible, that's why we ask the question of why have faith. Things that are intangible are harder to prove the existence of.

Just to set things straight, so you're saying you do believe in God, right? Just because most of the news media will have you believe that most of the US is secular doesn't make it true. I believe most of America believes in God and are very religous. Of course, being a "family car" forum will bring in all walks of life. That's one of the cool things about this site. You hear all sides, crazy or not.

**By the way, I believe subjects like this are to be left alone or at least not attempted to be explained. Our brains do not have the capacity or ability to comprehend such things. We cannot possibly understand what a Life of Eternity or a Life of Tortue and Pain could be like. I believe that this is the way God wants it, which leaves it down to faith, which is what he wants us to have to believe in Himself, Heaven, and the Gospel. Just my $.02

Bishop you share my exact view and problem at this current moment. Ever since beginning my lit. class i have been having sleepless nights and continuous thoughts of why we are here, what happens when we die, is it jsut unconciousness?, to me dying is a scary thought because if there is nothing after this world i will lose the love of my life when i die and my love for life and everything beautiful in nature, just a creepy time in my mind for the current moment, trying to find faith or an explanation for life after death.

Same here. I have the exact same thoughts and wonders about the afterlife, The Second Coming (Armegeddon, etc), God, Hell, Heaven, Angels, who created who and what, etc etc. I felt that I should not have gone into my thoughts in that much detail earlier, but you think like I do on the matter. If this thread lasts long, enough, I will continue to reveal my thoughts on other things. Being raised in a church, I do believe in God somewhat, but I feel like there is more, or something else to explain why I, or we, are here, where we came from etc. There's the Atheist outlook, Scientific outlook, Christian outlook, etc. I just don't fall into any. I have this weird outlook on everything. I guess you could say I am independent on the matter and I take from all aspects what I feel is right and go with that. Blah, let me stop before I begin preaching up in here.

Would you agree that Mankind in general has an incling to believe in God or a Higher Being?
It's just that it is this incling that makes ppl wonder about these

afterlife, The Second Coming (Armegeddon, etc), God, Hell, Heaven, Angels, who created who and what,

but don't have satisfying answers from their religion or research. One would think this natural feeling should have good answers as to why, would it not?
