I have a 2000 SE. I am having a problem getting the rotor off. Am I missing a bolt or screw somewhere. The caliper and brake housing are off. Someone please advise. [list]

One possibility: If this is first time removing the original rotors, you have to remove the "speed nuts" on the studs. These look like thin washers that are pressed on by Ford during manufacturing to hold the rotors on B4 the rest of the brake components are attached. About the size of a quarter, usually on 2 or 3 of the studs. You'll have to put a screwdriver or some other wedging tool between them and the rotors, and then twist, pry and pull them off. They do not need to be put back on. I am presuming you are refering to your front brakes.

Former, now returned CEG'er! 95SE MTX, (AKA "The Road Rat"). Stock except for:TH fix, B.A.T. big brake kit, tranny cocktail and lots of re-insulated wiring! May yet be a 3.0! "Speed doesn't kill, stupidity does!"

If you have the wheel off, and the brake stuff off, it should just pull off...if I remember right.

sure...just pull it off! When I did my rotors, I wound up beating the crap outof em just to get them off.

If you don't see the speed nuts, then the rotor is corroded on. You will need penetrating oil soak and a heavey mallet for removal. Also helps to pull on the rotor while banging from back.

Good luck. Mine took 30 min each side of pounding to get them.

When I took mine off in 2001 of my 1996, I had to spray WD-40 on them because they were rusted on there. Try it, it really helps out.

Be warned, though, heavy mallet work on the rotor can cause damage to the wheel bearings.

My rotors were rusted on the center hub, I used a three jaw puller and applied some pressure on the rotor and then tap it with a hammer. The rotor will fly off the hub.

If the center hub is rusted to the rotor, use Naval Jelly, thats what its for. no forcing necessary and looks better too.
