A broken or worn out mount could cause, or at least contribute to, both of your problems. If your engine is rotating, or tilting, I would suspect the problem is with either the front, lower mount, underneath the radiator, or with the back, lower mount, underneath the firewall. From my experience, when one goes, the others are probably close to worn out as well. Mine weren't very difficult to replace, but then I have a zetec mtx. I believe other people have commented that the duratec atx may be more difficult.
