any wire kit work for me? Will they all by-pass the stock amps? I have a regular din size cd player. There is no need for an install kit is there. Mine should just slide in right?

Any special instructions for removing the stock HU? How about the door panels?

You need the kit to bypass your stock amp and the little radio removal tools that Ford makes you buy and that is about it.....I recommend wiring your new HU to the adapter before you have it in the car. Be sure to make the connections good and tight too. You don't want to have to pull the new HU out to fix a loose wire. It is very simple and shouldn't take very long. Just make sure you hook up the right wires to the right wires. laugh Have fun and good luck!

You can buy almost everything that you need at walmart. They are going to sell you basically the same parts at an audio store for more. I bought the wiring harness and the little tools that you need from walmart. The kit to bypass the amp i got at a store called "audio express" any audio store that knows what they are doing will have the cable to bypass the amp. Don't go to best buy they are a bunch of idiots and they will try and sell you a part you don't need. They tried it on me and i argued with the guy for about 30 minutes. GOD they are a bunch of morons. Good luck!

OK. So I need two separate wire kits? One for the radio and one for the Amp?

You could just order the kit from crutchfield for $20. It comes with both wiring harnesses. One is for power, ground, power antenna, etc... and the other is for the speakers which hooks up after the stock amp (hence, amp bypass). It also comes with the DIN removal tools.

You'll save yourself some headaches of running to a bunch of different places, possibly not getting the right stuff. The directions are very helpful too for a novice installer.

You'll have to put in your radio's mounting collar, which is easy. Do your wiring (the stock amp is behind the glove box), slide the stereo in, and listen to your new and improved tunes.

Not 100% sure I have the right kit, but I bought a Metra Ford Prem Audio kit at Good Guys electronics store for $15. It came with 3 harnesses. Power, speaker and a third one that I think bypasses the factory amp.

Might be an option if you dont want to wait for crutchfield.com to deliver.
Do I have the right harness?
