Well, I failed to mention that during the reassembly of the intake plenum, my brother (thank god it wasn't me) tightened the #5 plenum bolt too much and it broke. This is causing a small vaccum leak which is why at low rpm/throttle he experiences the studdering and misfire. Getting a new bolt today and hoping that all goes well.
Thanks for the reply, I did pick up a gap tool and low and behold, they came out of the package nearly gapped perfectly.
