contour96 CEG\'er C Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 348 Eastpointe, MI	I am not getting a CEL...but what is funny is mine did it even before I bought it...when I was checking it out..thought cause someone left the air on....well it still did it...was in the stealership for a cel and they fixed the vac leak...stopped for awhile..then it began doing it again...was in the stealership for something else and they didnt say there was a vac leak...hmmmmmmmm..wierd.... junglo New CEG\'er J Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 28	Is the MAF sensor the one that is screwed on like a spark plug? what is the name of the sensor that is held inside the square plastic box just past the air filter and just before the plastic tubular piece that says MAF? I was told it is the one inside this square plastic box that I should clean? My car was hessitating for first 30 sec of cold start.

tw0wheelin_dup1 Hard-core CEG'er T Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 1,044 Memphis, TN area	FWIW- The square plastic box is the 'air box' with the air filter and the IAT, aka Intake Air Temperature sensor. I would also check for loose or cracked hoses leading into the the intake, but a bad IAC (Idle Air Control) valve is fairly common. At $80 for a replacement IAC, it's worth a close look at ALL the other hoses to make sure their OK before buying a new valve. Scott 95 SE-2.5L ATX (Sold, but not forgotten...)
