Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums Modifications Audio Amp/Cap Question

I just bought a system from a guy at work fro $800. 2 Audiobahn 10" Flame Q subs, 1600 watt Sony X-plod Class-D amp, and a 1 farad Moster Cap and a 150 amp ANL fuse and the fuse holder for it. A great deal from what I've seen in sales adds.

The cap is not hooked up yet, but every thing else is(lack of Power and Ground wire). When I turn the volume way up, the lights just start to dim. Now remember that I have not yet installed the Cap. For safe measure, I plan on installing it.

Now my question is: What is the maximum daistace between the amp and Cap that I can use?

I was always told to keep it within 12 inches, but if you can't don't worry about it too much. As long as you don't mount it in the engine your fine.
