My friend has a neon sxt, they only have a 2.0 sohc but are pretty quick. He has mods done, and so do i we raced and he took me off the start but i beat him by a car and a half. We are gonna race again this weekend so i will see wut happens we both have more mods done.

modded for modded Argument is stupid, that was my point. I won't even talk about Mike Crawford and his 8 second FWD world record holding srt-4. How long has my car been on the market??
I hate that it has to come to this every time my car is brought up, but you asked for it.
Modded for modded is not a stupid argument. I had a friend here in vegas who had a 99 CSVT with a 75 shot, ran 13.7@103 now riddle me this how is that a stupid argument???? You only ran a 13.9. All the car had was the resignator removed and a KKM intake besides the unit. This was also done at 3800ft had it been at sea level the time would have been better. Before you make stupid assesments make sure you remember the one golden rule he who has the most money will win.
As I said I am just speaking hypothetically I personally will probably own another CSVT but for the fact that it was quick enough for my tastes and was a blast to drive. Not because I want to make it a hot rod. I do know stock for stock the SRT4 is faster as does every one else. But modded for modded your right I would say 8/10 SRT's would win but one day maybe you may encounter that one that is running 10-12psi thourgh a blower or a turbo or maybe even a small shot of the giggle gas and eat those words.
Face it, it's alot easier to start off with a platform that will have alot more potential. I am not dissing the SRT4's in any way they are cool little cars but just like any FWD car they start to run into limitations when they start producing big hp numbers. Half shafts play a big roll, weight transfer and wheel hop possible differential and transmission failure. All cars are prone to these problems except half shafts on a RWD car but others stated will have more crucial roll with FWD cars producing big hp numbers.
Please don't let me hear the comment the SXT is zippy than the CSVT I almost fell out of my chair laughing so hard. They are peppy little cars, I see them out here ruling the drag strip all the time with their 16.7 passes.
And in reply to the 8sec SRT, what about the 8sec Focus

I only ran a 13.9? You only ran a 13.3 with over twice the HP and TQ? What's your point? I don't care what your truck weighs, that's rediculous. You should've just typed the second paragraph, but change it to 9.9/10 SRT's because to my knowledge are maybe 10 FI'd svt contour's in the country. I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

As much as I love the meguair's focus, it doesn't use the stock block, unlike the SRT-4. Also, I hope you realize ATL-SVT used to own a CSVT and probably understands the CSVT vs. SRT-4 thing a lot more than you ever will. Though of course the two cars aren't really comparable, so I don't know why this topic keeps coming up.

Because it's "just a Neon" vs "just a Contour"

Mopar Turbo owns you all.. muahahahaha. I love my RSX, but when its time for some serious butt kicking, whip your head back speed, I hop in the old 87 Daytona Shelby. It's not stock of course, in fact more race car, I can hardly drive it on the street. But boy oh boy....
