Hmm. I bought my first pair a few years ago. Best shoes I've ever purchased hands down. I take care of them too though. A coat of the balsam every couple weeks like my cars.

Is balsam the same as dubbin? I may jump on this deal as well, as I've got some deep scratches in mine that the dubbin only hides for so long. God, I've had the same pair since 1998, and they still look good!

The Dubbin is for waxy/greasy leathers. The blasam is a neutral polish that protects, conditions, and rejuvenates.

I recommend the padded shoe collar vs. the hard leather. my wife got hooked on Docs becaue she walks and stands a lot at work. Also, works in sometimes oily engine/transmission test cells. She has a black and brown pair or the 8053. I am still happy with my Rockports since Doc Marten doen't have many dressier options.

They might have something for that thumb.

wow awesome! thanks man!
I have 2 pairs of Doc's and they're as old as the hills.
I put some polish on now and then and they're good as new.
I think I've had mine for almost 5 years now.
They last forever! not too stinky either
great quality, well worth the price I paid for them.
