I can't find any info on a Sony Explode XM-1002HX. As long as it's below a combined rms (continuous) rating of 300-400w or lower, you should be fine with 8ga.

I'm assuming the phase linear is a small amp, so 8ga is probably overkill. But, at only $17, why not.
