I went to a sound competition this weekend totally un prepared and hit a 133.5 dbs.. We are going prepared this weekend hoping for a lot more!! BTW I have 2 12's pushed with one amp.

Hello,

What kind of 12s are you using? Sealed or ported sub? Either way, what are the dimensions of the enclosure?

What amount of power is the amp providing?

I got it tested twice last weekend. I have 3 MTX Thunder 5000 10's in a box made by me and an original RF Punch 100. Alpine 7864 HU, Audiocontrol 2xs, stinger power/signal, optima red top, Boston coax 5x7's and Punch 240.4 on those. I have a friend that works at soundtrack and we tested it this last weekend for fun. First pull 138.9....then 139.1...then the last and highest 141.3...All gains were made just by adjusting my HU/xover/amp. All pulls were done with both back seats down too.. My subs are 12 ohm single voice coil ran in parallel resulting in a 3ohm load... I can with new subs drop that down to 2 ohms and really push some power. I bought 3 new JL 10" W3's but am going out of town on business and won't be back until June. They are dual voice coil 4 ohm's so I can wire them series/parallel and get 2 ohms.. When thats all in I will test it again and am hoping to be up to 143-145 db....Not bad for low watts.

I just tested. I got 134.1 1st try and 134.8 2nd try. Back seats were up. I sure wish they came down!

I dunno the DBs mine does....will find out at a competition in a couple weeks but what I did get was when I finished my stereo I get a sore throat from time to time from my stereo, the more im in my car bumping the more sore my throat is...the less I am in it then no sore throat kinda weird...anyone else have this...

That is low SPL outta 2 12's ...what kind are they..... are they in a non-tuned ported enclosure??? Also what kind of amp do you have....and are they firing into the seat?? The longer you can let a bass note ricochet the better , so for maxe spl outta the trunk fire them towards the rear of the car

I hit 139 with just 2 12's. My back seats were down for it. Mind you, it sounded like total choas tough. It was for a DB drag racing thing, so basically I turned my gains up as far as I possibly could, and then put in an old ass Techmaster PEB disc.

Welps ... I went to the car toys first DB Drag of the season here in Washington today and I held it up for the tours baby. Yours truly turned in a DB Drag meet high 148.7 db and won first place. God, I never knew the 'tours could pound as hard as I did!

Next Mission - Next Sunday at 1:00pm in Everett Washington CarToys for the sound-off there on my quest to break the 150 decibel barrier.
