I've been following this case since the trial. Had it not been for the Wal-Mart security cameras that caught Renteria leading the girl out the door, he might not have been caught. There was little physical evidence linking him to the crime but he couldn't get away from the fact that the camera showed him leading her out the door.
If nothing else, it's a warning to start as early as possible with your kids teaching them not to go with strangers. I'm sure the parents of this dead girl never thought for a moment that their child would go with a stranger but she did.
