A V6 Mustang can keep up with a Duratec Contour until you get to the first hairpin. After that, its all history, groceries and all...

I agree.
Me too.
Same here. Whats the point if its not a V8 5 speed?

Are you looking to get a brand new V6 Mustang??? Unless it's brand new, I wouldn't bother. Even still for what the brand new coupes go for you can get a gently used GT or Cobra. There are lots of mods for the V6 Mustang. I friend of mine bought one in 2001. Put a dual exhaust on it. Sounded pretty good. Couple places to check out: http://www.extremev6racing.com www.v6power.net --Matt

Who wants a mundane 25 year old Fairmont anyway... Get some individuality and class instead... Be different. Don't be another all to common sheep. Leave that to the mullet heads and Honduh wannabes'

Yeah who would want a v8 and RWD, go with the v6 and FWD.

.........but its still one of a gazillion on the road. Anything other than an 03 cobra has no personality. The styling is crap, the interior is just nasty. Its a Ford with all the Squeeks and Rattles.
In my CSVT I turn heads. Its not a well know look. But on the other hand, I could be driving even an 03 cobra down the street, light up the tires, and let the supercharger wine like hell and still no one would think anything other than "wow its another stang".
Don't get me wrong, I would love to own a RWD V8 powered muscle car, but my "Pathetic" V6 FWD keeps the grin on my face for now.

As long as your happy. I see almost as many contours as mustangs, rarely a svt contour, but in my city only my friends know what a svt contour is because I've told them about it. A stock svt contour driving through my city turns less heads than any v8 stang. The contour is just so limited in what it can do, I wish I had never started modifying mine. Better to do it right the first time, but I found that out too late. I think a stang can look pretty good nice, and the interior is just as good, if not better than mine. If people see you light up the tires in your contour (and hopefully don't hear a tranny falling apart) they'll just think umm, what is that? I think it's a contour, ooo yeah a granny car,, how cooool. I guess in a perfect world, I'd own a nice FWD lesser known car (contour) and a nice RWD big aftermarket well known car (mustang).

Ah but the question was a POS V6 rustang vs a Contour.
I mean buying a V6 Mustang is like taking your sister to the senior prom.
