Back when CD blanks cost $1.50 a piece I could see the need for an mp3 compatible head unit, but now that you can get about 10 CD blanks for that price, the need for them has diminished.
I decided to get a 10-disc changer off Ebay. That will hold as much music as one MP3 encoded disk and allow me to use my non-flashy looking Kenwood KDC-6007. (That one is only loud when the volume is up. Most of the MP3 head units out today are loud even when muted, if you know what I'm saying).
Too bad the guy who sent it to me left a magazine in it, didn't package it very well, and when it got to me it was damaged.
At least he refunded my money.
