so why do the top fuel drag cars have a 3rd pedal in them?
and a shifter too
HAHAHA...Joe I was wondering the same thing. You know the most in car shots I see is with the guy pulling this lever thing that has separate levers for each gear I guess ....LOL, Guys it is all in how you drive it. Sure, you can get more consistancy out of an ATX but lets remember one thing, track conditions are seldom consistant. This is where I could have an advantage. Why? Because an ATX has to rely on fluid and torque to shift. The problem is this, you cannot tell a ATX that traction is going away...hence the term "backpedling". If you start to get out of shape, play with a clutch and you can sometimes fix that problem. Get out of shape on an ATX and you have to back out of the throttle and hope that the tranny doesn't up shift, then jump on it if it does....in that situation you would be own3d. But, anything is possible. So don't count the guy out with the ATX just cuz he has one. He could just take you for a ride.

when you guys talk about "automacics" in pro drag cars you have to remember one thing: they are manualy shifted! the absolute best drag setup would be a hydraulicaly shifted manual, a la a wrc car, because those things can shift faster than any human on the planet.

yes, I want one...
