It can be done, but there's a lot of work involved here for it to sound good.
I've actually still got it installed (just not hooked up). I'm thinking of putting in that work this summer to make it sound good.

What kind of amp did you have running the sub? Kicker makes a 'EEM' module for their 'ZR' series amps that is used specifically for freeair subs. It's called an Electronic Enclosure Module and is desgined to make Infinite baffle subs perform like they were sealed. FYI.
