Just drove down to N.C. from Mass. this weekend; averaged 27-28 mpg, which is spectacular, compared with the 22-24 mpg my SVT usually gets. I even hit 30 mpg through a few fill-ups.

Old car: '98 SVT T-Red K&N air filter; Ford Focus RS shift knob. Off to be auctioned off somewhere. New car: 2003 Honda Accord DX Sedan, 5-speed.

I get between 24.5 and 26.5 mpg combined city/highway driving, and that's driving fairly fast. On a strictly highway trip I usually pull about 28 mpg and that's doing 80-85 mph. I keep my tires inflated to 33 psi.

Of course in the summer my AC is always blasting, but that does not seem to affect my mileage too much.

2000 Ford Contour SVT, black, bone stock. "The way I drive, I don't need mods!" :-)
