Ok, what the hades. I have a 99 CSVT with no hardcore engine mods and I average around 20 mpg. Never above 22. Given that I live in San Diego and don't do the most highway driving, AND I don't drive THAT much with a lead foot, should I really be expecting these kinds of MPGs? I had never thought about it before.

No, you should be getting better mpg than that. I'm in SD, I drive with a plutonium foot , and I get at the very least 22mpg. Usually, more like 23-24mpg with 6k+ shifts.

i'm in San Bernardino and I get about 19 mpg average in city . Mostly highway doesn't say much at 23 mpg . Maybe it's due to no heatshield and 100 degree weather??

Hadn't checked mine for a while, your post gave me incentive to calculate.

Wow, ATX sure makes a difference. I get 7 - 7.5 L/100km on highway, AND WOULD RARELY SEE 10L/100, and then only if i do heaps of (hard!) city driving.

would a new coil pack help the mileage i know that the resistance on mine is a little off? Another thing when i pulled the last set of plugs (splitfire) they where covered in carbon like it was running rich. before that i had bosch plats and changed them after a day because of a misfire and they were also covered in carbon after a day so why would it run rich like that because of the coil? wires? (need new ones for sure) the ecu? O2 sensor?? help please

Suggest that returning to OEM plugs and wires would be a good starting point in your quest for better mpg.

What would you guys suggest to do, to get some better mileage? 2.5 duratech that gets barely 200 a tank...I drive kinda hard, but i used to drive the same way and get 250 out of her....I have plugs with less than 10k on them and 2000 on synthetic oil, wires are new also...what does that leave sensors and fuel filter?
