well on the two of the V6 COntours we have they normally hit 300 miles to the tank when on empty, give or take. I have gotten better and worse with each. That was mostly mixed driving on one and mostly back road on the other.
Now the other V6 Contour has only been getting around 250 or so per tank, which is bad compaired to the other to. Well low and behold one of the O2 sensor was shot and it just threw a code for it. Also one of the car monitor wires rubbed threw. So I would expect that milege per tank to be much higher.
Now for my Zetec 300 is a minimum when looking at mostly city driving. More highway travel i make with it the closer to 400 miles per tank. I have been averaging around 350 miles per tank when treveling to and from school with a little local driving

Actually tank size varies; e.g. my '97 - 14.5g US (55L), my '98 - 16.3g US (61.5L).

Well, they're not completely right. I think there have been changes made to the tank size like horseydung mentioned. I fill up at many different stations, so unless there is some mass conspiracy... All I can speak for is my car, and mine seems to be about 15.4.

I think my MPG is something around 8, what with the gas flooding the engine the way it is currently.

30 mpg combined winter/fall/spring and 26 combined (city/highway) in the summer with the a/c on. It rarely deviates from this. My wife drives it a bit easier than I do but just a little. It is a great handling, peppy little car. It's great looking and doesn't look like every other freekin Civic on the road. After 90,000 miles it's been extremely reliable. I did have a sparkplug problem, but in the end that was my fault, I think,,,, time will tell I guess.

I average about 25 with 95% highway driving. The best I've gotten since I started keeping track was 28.8. That was when I was running Premium for a while before the price jumped up. I'm approaching 55K so when I do the 60k maintenance, I'm sure that will improve.

Whoa nelly! I sure have. I once got 19mpg on a highway trip returning from out of state. I was boogeying.
In more sedate driving, I average around 24mpg commuting at around 75-80.
People say lowering springs really help with highway mileage by reducing drag. I'm looking forward to testing that for myself.

Gah. Mine seems to average around 20mpg in city. I almost never see more than 230-240 miles on a full tank if I'm not doing some highway driving. That's the most disappointing thing about this car.
