ok just wondering cuz i think my car is getting terrible mileage. For combined driving i get anywhere from 18-23 and thats mostly highway too. i think these numbers are very bad considering i have all the mods listed below. And no i dont rev it high i normally keep it below 3 and it shifts around 2000-3100. So im just wondering WTF is the deal?? i have replaced the fuel filter already and the plugs so its not those and have rebuilt the intakes so thats not it. Any suggestions would be very helpful considering just tonight i have around 200 miles on the trip and a 1/4 tank of gas left

that sounds about right... 200miles w/ a qtr tank left. thats what i get. Our tanks are if i'm not mistaken 14 gallons, when you fill up (i fill up at around 240 miles) thats just flirting with the gas light coming on, i usually have 2 gallons STILL in the car because i usually end up paying for 12 gallons. so instead of dividing your total mileage by 14 (the size of our tanks), divide by 12 and that should give your a smoother, not so rough estimate.

I get 25MPG Avg (over 35K miles). Lows are 19-20 (winter, highest is 34 MPG on 400+ mile trips.

I track all my costs as I use the car for work.

Interestingly, the 34 MPG was on trips to Pittsburgh and Charleston, WV. and I was traveling in the 80 MPH range most of the trips (just keeping up with the tractor trailors). The car does like high speeds.

The only performance mod is a drop-in K&N Filter. I keep the tires (Falken Z-502 205-60 HR15) at the sidewall max pressure of 44PSI. Rides a little hard, but handles well and doesn't mind rain.

i usually get 240-280 miles out of a tank of gas. And that's with the air running non stop in the summer.

With a 14.6 gallon tank, that's only 17-20 MPG if you ran to empty.
An MTX should do better than an ATX (or not).

How much gas does a "Tank" mean? 10 gal= 24-28 MPG, 12gal means 20 to 23 MPG.

I once got 46 mpg coming back from Vegas at 65 mph but I usually get 40-43 on the same route. This is with a 4 cylinder engine and standard transmission using premium fuel.I also use Mobil-1 oil which reduces friction. The worst I got was 39 mpg at 70-75 mph and a headwind.

Best ever was this summer after doing the y-pipe mod and K/N filter in the airbox,41 mpg. The y-pipe mod
is worth every cent it cost to do it !!!!

Edit: Equivalent to 34 miles/US gal. Presumably hwy considering location
