I'm really bummed out now. Went to the Toyota Dealership to look at the Tacoma doublecab 4x4 TRD. And well that part was sweet. The sad part my car isn't worth crap, and I have taken care of it. It seems when I bought the car in march of 2001 it was worth 11.9k and then a year or so later 8k well now with 37k on the odo and in good condition it's worth a measly 3900 for trade in and they would only give about a 1000 for a contique due to the value drop and they can't resale it and they would have to sell it wholesale to be auctioned. So I guess that when the 4Runner is payed off I'll keep the car and mod the hell out of it and get the Tacoma also. Talk about own3d.

Toyota would probably NEVER give you a good trade in on a Ford. No matter how clean or how low the miles are. If you wanted to get rid of the Tour, I would sell it outright to a private party.

He looked at Kelly Blue Book and it gave like 3900 for good condition (1 scratch driver door bottom 1 small dent front fender and back qurder panel all caused by kids) The sell it my self price is 5something and when you sell a car around here that's what people around here go by. It would be real haerd to sell higher than blue book price. Think when the 4Runner is paid off I'll keep my car for a hobby to just mod out and get the Double cab Tacoma, Of course we keep the 4Runner. It just bums me out that the value of these little cars drops so much so fast.

Your toyota dealer must suck. In Dec 2003, the toyota dealer gave us 6500 for a 1998 Mystique LS with everything but a sunroof, 80K, and the trade in was on a NEW 2003 RAV4

Toyota dealers ain't hungry these days. If a dealership is hungry they'll offer a better allowance on the trade.

I traded in an old Mercury Tracer for my Grand Marquis some years back & the dealers in West Palm Beach wouldn't give me more than $3500 for it. Lowest offer was $2000 BAH!!

I drove 40 minutes north to a smaller town (Stewart) & traded it in for $6500 & got a better price on the new car to boot. The next day, when I went back to drop off the cashiers check for my new car, they had the Tacer on the lot for $7500.

Lesson: Shop around - look for a hungry dealer.

I know what you mean. When we bought the 4Runner they just got it. The people who owned it traded it in for a tundra. When we saw it, it was unwashed un preped and 4 bald tires. While we were signing the paper work they put 30x9.5-15's with all terrain tires on it cleaned it up and installed an ignition kill on it. At no cost for the tires and rims, but the ignition kill cost us but no labor cost. Now they keep calling and it's been 4 years and they still want us to trade it in on a brand new 4Runner. Reason being people want a 4Runner with a 5speed seeingt how it's not built that way anymore. And the 5speed was rare in the first place.
I was waiting for Ford to do some warrenty work on the car, last year. So I walked over to Dodge across the street, and looked at the 4dr Dakota. Whell the sales guy let me drive it and tried to talk me into buying it. He asked me to bring my car over when Ford was done with it. So I did and he went over the whole car, why not. He took his little sheet into the managers office, and then they came back out and he offered me twice the blue book value for the car if I traded it in then. Couldn't cause we were so upside down on what we owed on it.

Good luck w/ modding the Mystique; they're a lot of fun to drive, but can't be nearly the fun to driving C's and now 115 E's!
How do the E/F's compare w/ the C's?.
