How bad would it sound if I removed the res. and both mufflers on CSVT?? Just run open pipe all the way back. Just wondering, I taking it in next week to have something done....just not sure yet what to do. I don't have the fundage for a cat back plus the tech at the garage owes me a favor so I'm sure what ever I have done there shouldn't rack me to much....so does any one have thoughts.... yes I'v read a ton of archieves on exhausts stuff just looking for some fresh ideas! Thanks, Hefty

If you like LOUD, it would probably be OK, although problaby raspy too. Replacing the resonator with a Magnaflow or other low restriction resonator is usually a good first step. You can replace or eliminate the mufflers later if you want more/different sound.

Just buy a cat-back, get the best gains, and not worry about picking mufflers and resonators.

Hey...I am standing by my 2.5 in 18in long glasspack then routed under gas tank to the y-section. Sounds awesoem and I could feel a bit of improvement. I cost me a total of like 50 bucks...just make sure you get a good quality glasspack I got mine from Summit...looks sweet!

I got tired of the rasp and loudness of running 4" round Magnaflows as the rear mufflers on my SVT without a resonator. So I installed a 40 series Flowmaster in the position of the resonator. While I was putting it together I had just the Flowmaster and not the rear mufflers installed. I started the engine to see what it sounded like. It sounded real nice, very deep and loud with no rasp at all, it was just as loud as it was without a muffler but much more pleasant of a sound.
The Flowmaster is a tight fit. The heatshield under the car where the stock resoantor is needs to be "adjusted" a little to fit the muffer in.
