How does one check the wiring harness? What am I checking for? I could see if the insulation is dryrotted or something but that would be about all without knowing the how-to of automotive electrics.
Check for cracks, splits, missing insulation, etc. It will be particularly obvious in, around, and near the terminals, connectors, cooling fan, etc. Shake and twist the harness and see if any of the insulation breaks off.
