Does anyone have any pics of their dash on a CSVT before and after the dash replacement? If so, can you PM me to send them, or just post a link. Thanks. I want to see what it looks like after the recall work is done (I know the recall is over). I have seen different dashes on the CSVTs, and wasn't sure if one looks different because of the recall. Thanks.

Ok, then why are there different dashes out there? I saw some that have a plastic cover over the front of the dash, at the windshield, but mine is the leather all the way to the windshield? Anyone...?

Before I had my dash replaced on my SVT, the leather (is the dash leather?) went all the way to the windshield. That is where the dash was separating. If you looked at the dash from outside you could see some parts of it were separated over a half-inch.
The plastic cover is now there after I had the dash replaced. This must help hold it down and I think it looks pretty good.

First, the dash is not leather. Second, when they replace the dash, they replace it with the exact same dash that you had before. You are thinking of the dash repair kit. It is a big piece of plastic that rivits down over the original dash and is a quicker, less expensive alternative than replacing the whole dash. On the down side, some people say it looks like a$$.

The dash in my SE was replaced and a small black plastic strip was installed where the dash meets the glass. I believe this was intended to isolate the open cell foam (beneath the pleather) from moisture which causes the dash to warp.
The dash on the SVT is not the same, and has no warpage.
