Alright guys, did not know where to post this. I figured that since alram systems and car audio pretty much go hand in hand ,might as well.
I need everyones or anyones help I am trying to put a good to ok security system. Now I found alot of the stuff that I wanted at partsexpress.com but what I want to know is what type relays do I need and which are the best products to use. This is what I am thinking of putting in my tour: glass sensors, trunk/ hood pins, intrusions sensor, small battery back up moving sensor. Now I have right now a pioneer 9200r which has the built in dfs alarm system that I want to integrate with all of these things as well.

you want to use your cd player to control all that stuff? i wouldnt do it, that dfs alarm is pretty crapy and the cd player alarm doesnt have the inputs for like glass sensor and all that. Plus since the pioneer alarm runs through your speakers and the alarm sound is so high pitched that it will blow speakers and tweeters

The DFS is pretty lame. I dont think it is possible for the DFS to even control any added inputs. You can get a Crimestopper Alarm pretty cheap ($40 for the base one on ebay) May just want to look into that.

heres the deal, if you get an alarm, mith all the sensors in the world, how are they going to get in your car, without setting them off? dont worry about dfs. now, theres a lot of good companies out there. viper and clifford are the two best in my opinion. in fact dei, known as directed electronics, in which viper is a subsidy of, just bought out clifford. these companies offer everything you could want. they also have some sweet install guides so you can install them yourself. many of the alarms come with the glass sensor (which is basically a microphone and should be mounted an equal distance from all windows, almost all with dual stage shock ensors (which only means that it can distinguish from wind hitting the car and a person doing the same) the pins are accesories which can be bought cheap from them directly, as well as the battery. what do you mean by an intrusion sensor? also, do you want a backup alarm or did i misread? personally, viper and clifford's quality is legendary so i would go with them. any decent shop should carry them as well so you can always get is serviced or whatever. www.directed.com

Alpine's alarms are pretty good (I have to say that since I bought it) When my alarm is activated, it pages me so if I'm in the building at work and can't hear the siren, I still know the alarms going off. It has very good distinction between what's touching it too. If the wind is going nuts or it hails, it doesn't go off. If somebody leans on the car it chirps until they stop. If they break a window it goes ape$#!+. I replaces the 128 db siren with dual sirens that point in opposite directions. It is horribly loud now, and can be heard in the afterlife.

Hey Honkeytonk, did your car have the keyless entry system on it before you got the alarm? I'm asking because I was thinking of getting the same system with the pager put on my car but wasn't sure if it would be compatible.

I mean I need something to do so I was thinking of doing all of the installs myself, and to bad that the dfs sucks. Oh and keyless would be good on that alarm. if not guys give me ideas, I am open for any solution to a diy

An installer should be able to hook it up to an aftermarket alarm. My car didn't have that option but my dad's Taurus did and his alpine alarm works with it. All they do is replace the factory relay with one for you aftermarket alarm. I watched the install so I think i have an idea what is needed. There shouldn't be any problems though.
