SHOoff, it's nice of you to help out, but it hurts my eyes to read your posts. Can you try a little punctuation in there somewhere?
Not being a pain, it'd just make it a lot easier to read. Thanks again for helping out.

Hey SHOoff I need some advice. I'm goin to install my amp into my car but im unable to find a hole to get from the engine to the anywhere in the interior of the car. I dont want to drill a hole into the fire wall, so im hoping that you could tell me of a hole that already exists that I can thread the amp wires through.

Just a really beginner question (sorry for the long post - just need advice)
I have a stock '97 Contour GL, and just installed a CD player instead of the factory tape unit. Now I can play CDs, but the system still sounds awful (no bass, no high freq sounds, lifeless). I suppose it's because the cheap stock speakers. Right ?
Should I: - replace all 4, with 2 identical pairs - replace only the front pair - replace with 2 different pairs for best result.
The CD player is the cheapest Rockford-Fosgate model (rfx8310), so I think too expensive speakers would be just overkill.
Do you have any recommendations (or price/product range I should think about or avoid) ? I have some EE background, and zero knowledge of audio systems.
Thanks, and sorry for the long posting

The changer you want depends on two things. looks or sound quality. If it was my decison i would definatly go with the nakamichi there is nothing that even comes close to the sound quality

it depends if your car has a stick or an auto. If it has a stick your out of luck unless you can pulll the main electrical harness out. I would not recommend this to anybody. Your going to have to drill. If it is an auto there should be a gromment on the top left side of the steering colum.

I have one question for you when they put the rockford fosgate radio in did they intergrate the factory amp or bypass it, this could be the problem. When you intergrate in a coutour you are overloading the factory amp and causing distorton at mid to high volume levels. this is the first thing i would check. if you looking for speakers go with kenwood excelon or mb quart they are the only 5 by 7s that sound good. And ill tell you what if you live near the Detroit area i can cut ou a really good deal them

With the windshield caucking do you need to dismantle the entire back lights system of is it possibile to elimante that rattle from the inside without taking things apart. I am really interested in sound proofing my trunk but just from the beginning it seems like a huge pain.

There have been a few good pictures posted on the board. I cannot find the best one, but there is one at LouisW's site, http://www.alltel.net/~louisw/. Look in the How-To, Audio stuff.
