calm down man, you probably wont get pulled over just for this, if the cop wants to be an a$$hole and find every illegal thing that he can, then you might get a ticket, that is if the cop knows about this new law.

I picked up a loaner car today and they took the plate frame off before I took it. I would assume it will be removed when I pick up my new car tomorrow. Funny thing is, itâ??s listed on the dealer tag as an option.
Are you talking about the license plate bracket? If so, that is one for the front bumper on to which you will mount your plate. It wasn't listed on the sticker for our Taurus wagon and we didn't get one, the plate screws right on to the bumper.

Here's an article in The Houston Chronicle today that clarifies the frame law. It looks like it is ok to have them as long as the information on the plate can be read.
