I am having the same problems but the hesitation is getting much worse. I have changed the spark plugs, plug wires, pcv, iac, fuel filter. Ford ran a diagnostics check, said it was a bad maf, and dpfe sensor. I have no clue they also want 500 bucks to do that sh!t. Changing the iac was a biach of a job! Im pissd!!

It's been months and you never posted any codes!

At around 100K miles, I hope you checked/changed the PCV hose when you changed the PCV valve.

What exactly is going on with you?

Was the engine overheating? Have you checked compression?

Was the timing belt relpaced?

Is the problem worse or more often or both?

Man this is the third post dealing with the MAF....funny...Alright, never dealt with the dpfe sensor, have dealt with the MAF. DON'T BUY ONE FROM FORD IF YOU CAN HELP IT. It is overpriced. Get one from your parts store and check the warranty. AutoZone had mine and it comes with like a 90 day or year warranty (so many parts, so many warranties---I know the alternators have lifetime ). Get it from there. Also, cleaning the MAF with Berryman's Chemtool wouldn't hurt. Replacing it is SIMPLE! I did mine in the parking lot at AutoZone so that I wouldn't have to worry with core charges. Just remember to disconnect the battery first. After that, then have the dealer work on the DPFE ONLY if someone doesn't chime in here and say "Oh yeah that was a piece of cake..."

Hey I went to autozone today because they finally got a store built here. Anyways he pulled the codes and it gave him a 111, which is everything is fine or something. He also said he thought that he got a 133 but thats not a code, but he didnt seem to know what the f@ck was going on. Anyways the hesitation is much worse, I stop at a stop light and then it will nearly die. I have beeen blindly repalcing things in hope that it will fix my prob, just did the coil pack but still no luck. I did notice that when I unplug the MAF sensor the car no longer idels way down and it wont die anymore. So I went and ordered one for a $100 I hope that is my problem. And no I never changed the PCV tube, its the metal breather tube isnt it.. How do u go about getting that replace, seemed like it would be hard to remove and replace.

133 is the same code I got when my top o2 sensor was bad. Got one from www.oxygensensors.com and the code went bye-bye.

Remember he has an OBD-I ECU. OBD-II names that code as the O2 sensor going bad.

Looking at the first page then going to the OBD-I codes, you are correct, there is no 133. Is it possible that he did the test while the car was running?? Diagnostic checking should be done with the car off as you may get some erroneous codes.

Keep looking keep fighting, you will fix it.

I had the car off but he told me to put the ignition on so the check engine light was on! Anyways I changed the o2 sensor about 4 months ago, would that have gone bad already?
Anyways I am really interested in finding out if my MAF is bad, because when I unpluged the maf, the car ideled high at first but then it when down to 1000 and stayed there, and it ideled perfect, no hesitation. Because it doesnt matter what I do after a couple of minutes it starts to drop below 500 and then it will die unless i hit the gas, when im driving the car is fine. BUT is my MAF bad if the car runs fine when the MAF is unpluged????? I ordered it from NAPA, and its suppose to be here tommorw(friday)!!!
Thanks for all the help
